The Art Center Giorgio de Chirico was named after the
famous Italian painter who was born in Volos .
At its three
floors building there is a permanent exhibition
of the collector Alexandros Damtsas , consisting of about 500
paintings from all important art styles of our century.
The above named paintings are in gravures, maps and documents
from the region, made by Greek gravers and artists from
Volos , Magnesia and Thessaly . Many art works from his
donation come from Greek painters of the 19 th and early
20 th century.
At other rooms of the Art Center there are regular
exhibitions of fine arts. |
